While I'm nostalgic for pictures of Kintyre, here is a photograph of the beautiful and fearsome first tee at Machrihanish. If you look closely at the name of the hole you will see that it is 'Battery'. During the winter, when the Atlantic tide is fully in and a furious gale is blowing off the ocean, then the hole is re-named 'Assault and Battery'.
