Highly Desirable Vinyl Artifacts From A Long Time Ago

Number 3 - The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane This record is often said by commentators to be the greatest 45rpm single ever issued. Released in1967 in a limited edition picture sleeve, I bought this on the day of its release, and in many ways it is the most prized record in my possession. That's partly due to the fact that the picture sleeve has become rarer and rarer as the years have passed, but also because I bought it twice. Not two copies - but the same record twice!! My old mum misunderstands the nature of recorded music in general and collecting Beatles records in particular, and in late 1967 she gave this disc, along with many others, to a local jumble sale, on the grounds that "you've listened to it often enough, dear." Fortunately I discovered this heresy in time to sprint to the sale and buy back my own record (though others had already been sold for 1d each and were being used as frisbees by delinquent toddlers, much to my intense and life-long chagrin).
