Cricket, Lovely Cricket

There are some up-sides to this heart by-pass malarkey. One of them is the luxury of watching Test cricket from Lords on a Thursday morning in the middle of May, when, of course, one would normally be at work. The first England - Sri Lanka Test started yesterday - England are already in a very powerful position, and barring adverse weather they look certain to win. It's wonderful to get settled in at 11am with a pot of coffee, the Herald crossword, a semi-forbidden chocolate biscuit for elevenses, and another pot of coffee, secure in the knowledge that while the rest of the world toils and spins, the only spinning that you need to interest yourself in is Muralitharan's. Wonderful. Courtesy of the BBC here are pictures of centurion Kevin Pietersen and appreciative members in the pavilion (lucky sods)
