CARTOON CORNER
Jack Straw, the Foreign Secretary, condemned the decision by some media outlets in Europe to republish the cartoons, calling it “insensitive, disrespectful and wrong”. He said that freedom of speech did not mean an “open season” on religious taboos, and he praised the British media for what he called their “considerable responsibility and sensitivity” for not publishing them. There will be no cartoon this week, kids, out of respect for, and sensitivity towards, all those who (a) believe in fairy stories (b) have no sense of humour, and most importantly (c) have big guns and might be able to find out where I live. I thank you PS Jack Straw is a twonk
