Pronounced Cairndoo

but spelt Cairndow. In more naive times the bus used to stop at Cairndow Inn, and, under the innocent guise of checking that the vehicle was properly fueled, the driver would nip in to the Inn for a swift noggin by way of refreshment. Very responsibly the driver would hardly ever be over the limit when the journey recommenced. Now, Cairndow is, like my heart, by-passed. This photograph is about as close as you will nowadays get to Cairndow Inn.
